Description

Offering both moorland and coastal views, there’s nothing about Rosedale’s location to sniff at, except invigorating sea air. Park three cars onsite and breathe a happy sigh as you step into your four-bedroom, 150-year-old home from home.

For groups or families, the flexible set up is ideal. Upstairs first pick which view you want to wake to. There’s the master king with its en suite shower, a double room and a twin with North York Moor views. For sea views opt for the second twin room, which can be made up as another king. Mind you don’t hog the family bathroom wallowing in its oversize bath or spa-jet shower cubicle – there’s always the downstairs shower room as a spare.

The ground floor is very dog friendly with its stone-tiled, under-heated floor. Abandon walking gear in the large porch before reaching the open plan kitchen diner. There’s a fabulous range cooker, ice on tap from the American fridge freezer and the whole family can fit round the table. Should you need them, you can find shared laundry facilities in the neighbouring Coach House.

The huge, south-facing walled garden cries out for an evening drink, a dip in the hot tub or get comfy in the lounge beside the stove.

The Local Area

Port Mulgrave is a former ironstone port on the North Yorkshire coast. Whilst there’s no beach access here, you’re moments from the Cleveland Way hiking trail, which leads you to the glorious shores of Staithes or Runswick Bay, under two miles in either direction. Nearby is Restaurant 20, which is fast gaining a great reputation. Or try the relaxed, dog-friendly pub The Badger Hounds at Hinderwell, just 10 minutes’ walk from Rosedale. Previous guests say good things about the service and food at The Brown Cow or if you'd prefer a trip to Runswick Bay there's the Cliffemount Hotel Restaurant and The Ellerby Country Inn that both have a great reputation.
