Such a wonderful holiday home, in this peaceful village location just 5 miles outside Whitby, is a rarity for groups of up to 12 guests. Our imposing home is set over three floors. The whole house has an immaculate, calming feel and has been decorated tastefully but with a view to restful holidays away from the hubbub of daily life.
With a sitting room complete with log burner for those colder winter nights and a separate snug, there is always somewhere to get away for a quiet read or perhaps to give the younger members of the group their own space to spread out in.
The six upper-floor bedrooms – 1 super-king size (can be made into a twin), 2 king-size, 1 double, 2 twins plus a sofa bed (for an extra charge) – can only be described as spacious and all offer great views of the moors. The four bathrooms exceed the norm too, either with a roll top bath or shower where you’ll be happy to linger.
This is definitely a house for hanging out in! There’s seating for everyone in the kitchen/dining area, a second fridge for drinks and plenty of space to mingle in the kitchen, which opens onto the large, fully enclosed, private rear garden with BBQ area and a hot tub. In the summer house, you will find loungers for those warmer summer days.
There’s a large utility room too with a washer/dryer. In fact, you will want for nothing – free Wi-Fi, barbecue, three Freeview TVs and ample parking make for the perfect pet-friendly, group getaway. If you have an electric car there's an Electric Vehicle (EV/PHEV) charging point too!
Just in case that was not enough, you will also have access to the large garage which doubles as a games room with table tennis and darts - or perhaps, as a safe place to store your bikes ready for a challenging ride onto the moors!

The Local Area
With parking for 6 or more cars and bike storage, you can set off exploring the moors with ease. Walk the five miles to Whitby or try the Sleights to Falling Foss trail - it’s equally idyllic. There’s a village shop, Botham’s Bakers and Radford Butchers for gourmet produce, or perhaps a fish and chip supper at Eskdale Fisheries. Our favourite local is The Plough Inn for traditional food and ales which is just a short 5 minute walk away.

Superb property with excellent facilities, space and very comfortable. Would highly recommend
Bridestones is an amazing house with a real home from home feel. Our family spent Christmas here this year - the first time any of us had spent Christmas away from home. It really did not disappoint. The house accommodated us all comfortably and had such a warm and cosy feel. It has everything you could ever need/want (even for cooking the Christmas dinner!). The hot tub was a definite hit - we spent most nights relaxing in there and the games room was great for the kids.. Whitby is only a 7-10 min car ride away which was perfect. Sleights is a lovely area with Radfords, Bothams and a great chippy (Eskdale Fisheries) all within walking distance. There are some nice local walks too which we enjoyed during our time there. it was safe to say none of us wanted to leave, that’s how great the house is. Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime in the future.. possibly summer to make use of its huge garden and bbq/patio area. Awesome stay and really made our Christmas. Thank you Shoreline.
A stunning house in a stunning location made for a remarkable and truly memorable family get together. The liaison " Billy" easily contactable if required. We arrived in 4" snow making the sloping driveway very interesting to negotiate. Fortunately having done weather checks prior to travelling we had packed a shovel so could clear enough to get up the drive! In the kitchen there is everything you could need. For the kids there are darts and table tennis in the garage. There's no heating but that didn't deter is! It has a large back garden with a BBQ and patio area that in summer will be awesome. Some of the family did use the hot tub and loved it! There's a log burner in one of 2 medium sized lounges which we used to good effect in the very cold weather and it was very cosy. Just make sure to bring some extra logs with you! Location wise, 10 minutes drive to Whitby. Local pub the Plough. 5 minutes walk. Had an amazing Christmas meal. What more do you want?
