Description

This former stable block once served the adjacent manor house. You’ll discover original features and traditional styling that pay homage to Old Stable’s equestrian roots, including the original stalls, exposed stonework and ever-so-practical stone-tiled ground floor.

Old Stable boasts one double bedroom and a twin. The twin beds can be made into a king-size bed on request, and a single sofa bed is also available (At an additional charge) . Both upper-floor rooms provide sea views across fields that roll down to the shore. The family bathroom includes a shower over the bath. Downstairs there’s a second WC, which is handy for a last call as you’re galloping out of the door with children!

The farmhouse kitchen continues the very well-equipped theme, answering all your cooking and dishwashing demands. You have full use of the shared laundry room at Coach House too.

If you can extract yourself from the cosy lounge – where you can enjoy Smart TV and WiFi – you have direct access to the enclosed garden (shared with Coachman's Rest, next door), where dogs can exercise. There’s seating and a barbecue available and any sunshine usually lasts well into the evening, providing uninterrupted views towards Staithes and some glorious sunsets.

Together with Coachman’s Rest, Old Stable can be booked for a larger group.

The Local Area

There’s ample parking in the courtyard and if you have the bit for adventure between your teeth, we recommend treading the network of footpaths that lead from Old Stable’s door. A casual stroll takes you to Hinderwell village where you will find the Badger and Hounds. One-mile walks lead you either to picturesque Staithes or Runswick Bay. For the gothic tourist trail, Whitby is 20-minutes’ drive.

Myself and my dog Oscar have had a wonderful time yet again. We have stayed altogether about 5 times in the other 2 smaller cottages, but only once in the Old Stables. This is a wonderful cosy homely cottages, with everything you need for your stay. Till next time....
