Whitby tourists – Mr Purvis

We all have our reasons for loving Whitby. Here’s a selection of tourists we’ve chatted to in the town to find out what keeps enticing them back time and time again…..

I’ve been visiting Whitby for years and always book the same holiday apartment to stay in. I enjoy getting away from Newcastle, where I live, and usually stay for between 3 and 7 nights. I love picking winkles and eating them and of course I love the fish and chips too – Trenchers is my favourite place for them! The people are so nice and it’s peaceful and quiet here. It’s a break from home and I just love it!
