The décor and furnishings throughout the open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner are clean, bright and welcoming. Off the hall, you’ll find a lovely king-size bedroom with an ensuite shower room, a twin bedroom and the family bathroom for those who like a long soak in a warm tub.
You can dine in and leave dirty pots to the dishwasher. You can rinse off sandy clothes in the washer-dryer: this home from home has everything to aid a busy or relaxing break.
Walk to the hub of the town (a 10-minute stroll) to discover restaurants, pubs and cafes. On warmer days, cast open the lounge door to the apartment’s side balcony and enjoy the grand sea breeze and partial sea views.

The West Cliff location of Scandi Scallop provides excellent access to main routes and sublime Sandsend, just along the shore. You can stroll to and from the beach or visit Whitby Pavilion for cinema or theatre entertainment. In just 10 minutes, you can be at the famous Whalebone Arch and its magnificent views or be seated in an award-winning fish and chip restaurant or historic pub – there’s plenty on the doorstep.

We found Shoreline to be vey efficient and our apartment was excellent. I have used quite a number of cottage providers before and I think Shoreline has been the best at providing information to get the best out of our stay. They phoned us ahead of departure to tell us the there was a problem with the lift in the apartment block and to ask if this would cause us any difficulty. It didn’t affect us and after 3 days the lift had been repaired and was in full working order. Thanks to Billy and all the Shoreline team for great service.
Just returned from a fabulous stay at Scandi Scallop. Large, spacious 2 bed apartment, well-situated on the West Cliff. Very clean, well equipped with everything you would like in a self-catering apartment. Would definitely go back.
