Description

If you want a house that packs in character and sea views, you’ll find Captain’s Quarters ship shape! This is one of Whitby’s largest cottages boasting such wonderful sea views.

It’s a stone's throw from the harbour beach and sleeps eight guests in four bedrooms. You’ll have sea views from most windows, whichever of the three floors you’re on. The lounge is large and inviting, the kitchen diner a delight and there is Wi-Fi and every appliance you need.

Kids will enjoy hiding out in the bunk bedded room or the twin room on the second floor, there's a shower room here too. On the first floor there’s a bedroom with a king size bed, en suite bathroom and over-bath shower, and a twin room. The adjacent family bathroom is particularly useful in having a separate shower cubicle.

We love the fact you can bring your dog and that families can enjoy hours of fun on the beach. You can get to it – and your small, private decking area – down the steep alleyway steps at the side of the house. Feel free to bring a disposable barbecue for cooking whilst you watch the setting sun! Please note that the garden to the front of the building is for the sole use of Kipper Cottage.

This apartment, Kipper Cottage, is below and the two together make a brilliant holiday let for up to fifteen guests. Remember your slippers – it's an old building with some hard floors so consideration to keep the noise down ensures everyone has a happy holiday.

The Local Area

You’ll be the envy of many in this spot, just metres from Whitby Abbey’s 199 Steps. You’re very near the Tate Hill Beach, which allows dogs all year round, and the wealth of shops and cafes that line the cobbled streets of the Old Town. Parking is in public car parks around fifteen minutes’ walk. The Marina is always interesting and a good spot to try crabbing, near to the Train Station - half a mile away.
