Regular closures of Whitby Swing Bridge until end of August.

As from 23 March 2024, Whitby Swing Bridge will implement a traffic-free initiative to improve safety and support the town’s economy. The closures will continue until the end of August and occur from 10.30 am – 4 pm on weekends, during school holidays, bank holidays, and special events. Buses and pedestrians will be exempt from the closures.

We suggest that if you are arriving at one of our cottages, and would normally cross the bridge, it might be useful to check out detours in advance of your arrival
