Description

Weatherill House is a characterful Victorian holiday home on Park Terrace in Whitby, offering generous accommodation, original period features and beautiful views of Whitby Abbey and the sea. Sleeping up to nine guests across five bedrooms, it’s an excellent choice for families and groups looking to enjoy a traditional seaside break with all the comforts of home.

With high ceilings, ornate ceiling roses and original fireplaces alongside modern furnishings and fittings, Weatherill House blends Victorian character with contemporary convenience. You may even hear the familiar sound of the steam train coming into Whitby, adding to the charm of your stay.

Enter the property through the front door, reached by a flight of steep steps. Inside, a long hallway provides plenty of space to kick off shoes and hang coats.

The living room is a lovely place to put your feet up, with deep sofas, an ornate original fireplace (decorative only) and views overlooking the street. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet evening or gathering with family and friends, it’s a relaxing space to spend time together.

Next door, the dining room offers a table and chairs for shared meals, leisurely breakfasts and evening get-togethers. The sizeable galley kitchen leads off this room and is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. A full-size fridge and freezer, dishwasher and other modern appliances make preparing meals easy, while underfloor heating adds an extra touch of comfort.

There's a convenient ground-floor bathroom with an over the bath shower. This room also houses the washing machine, providing useful facilities for longer stays.

Weatherill House has five bedrooms arranged over three upper floors, offering a flexible layout for families and larger groups.

On the first floor, you’ll find an impressive king-size bedroom with lovely views across Whitby Abbey and out towards the sea. An original fireplace adds character, while ample hanging space provides room for your holiday wardrobe. A second king-size bedroom is equally spacious, overlooking the rear yard and featuring another original fireplace.

The second floor has two further bedrooms. Another sizeable king-size bedroom enjoys more views of Whitby Abbey and includes a wardrobe, chest of drawers and TV, making it a comfortable place to unwind after a busy day. Next door, a single bedroom benefits from the same attractive outlook.

Continue up the steep staircase to the top floor, where the twin bedroom has two single beds and a large Velux window. Wake up to a wonderful view of Whitby Abbey and the sea beyond.

On the second floor, the stylish family bathroom features a roll-top bath and a shower with a rainfall shower head. It’s a lovely space to enjoy a relaxing soak or freshen up after a day walking along the coast.

Weatherill House has two outdoor seating areas where you can make the most of warmer days. To the rear, a private, secure yard is accessed directly from the kitchen. With seating available, it’s a handy spot to enjoy a morning coffee or relax outside after a day exploring Whitby. At the front, a small patio area provides additional seating and a place to sit back, listen to the steam train arriving into Whitby and watch the world go by.

Parking is another welcome benefit. There is a wide parking bay at the front of the house and an additional car can park directly across the parking bay if required.
