Yorkshire Fossil Festival in Whitby

This year, Whitby will be hosting The Yorkshire Fossil Festival over the weekend of 10th and 11th June.  The location for the festival is to be Whitby Museum and Pannett Park.

Events and activities will take place throughout the weekend, mostly free of charge, and mainly held at the museum, but some events will also take place around the town. There will be talks, walks, entertainment for all the family and the opportunity to bring along your own finds for an expert opinion. Whitby and this area of coastline, often referred to as the Dinosaur Coast, has always been popular for Fossil Hunting. The most commonly found fossils being Ammonite and of course the famous Whitby Jet, which is fossilised Monkey Puzzle Tree.
