Description

Recently-refurbished Prince of Wales Cottage is a deceptively spacious, traditional Whitby cottage. You’ll find it in a popular part of Whitby’s Old Town, with the cliff of St Mary’s Church and Whitby Abbey’s 199 steps metres away.

At the cottage’s heart is the well-equipped, newly-fitted modern kitchen including all the usual mod cons such as a dishwasher and washer / dryer. From here you can step out to the secluded yard and enjoy the outdoor seating area for your morning breakfast or evening drink.

Throughout, you’ll discover free Wi-Fi, beamed ceilings and tasteful décor that creates a relaxing, homely feel. The lounge diner is wonderfully spacious yet invitingly cosy. If you want a traditional seaside holiday, you’ll experience it here.

Careful, there are steep staircases, typical of the area, to the two upper floors. The first floor houses the a bedroom with King size bed, the children's room with bunk beds and the newly-fitted family bathroom with a thermostatic over-bath shower. Climb very carefully to the delightfully quirky, second floor twin and you’ll be rewarded with a glimpse over the rooftops to the sea.

You can also enjoy Whitby fresh air and perhaps a drink or meal on the newly installed decked area to the rear of the property that is accessed via a spiral staircase.

The Local Area

Once well known for fish curers and jet ornament makers, Henrietta Street remains a source of interest for its views and lighthouse. Fortune’s Kippers still trades from a few doors down, as does the Duke of York Pub whose history can be traced to the Doomsday Book! Dogs will love a walk around the Abbey grounds, Tate Hill Beach or the stroll from your car – the nearest parking is fifteen minutes away.

Prince of Wales Cottage is exactly the right size and position for us to have a great holiday, Booking with Shoreline has been so fun reliable and stress free it's become a family tradition.

Mrs C, Birmingham

Always find Shoreline cottages perfect for a central stay in Whitby. The Prince of Wales cottage was perfect for our two families and lovely to be so close to the Abbey and the shops

Mr B, Northwich

The deck terrace is a fabulous and quite unexpected sun trap. A very well imagined and executed bonus for this very lovely cottage. Shoreline have a great portfolio of cottages and know what will appeal to visitors to Whitby, one of the finest seaside towns imaginable.
