Orchard Cottage in Sleights, North Yorkshire, offers a wonderful bolthole for a family seaside holiday in a rural village setting. Park right outside the cottage on this quiet lane; if you’re bringing more than one car, there’s ample free space on the adjacent road.
The cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms over three floors. There are some lovely features including a cast-iron fireplace, exposed stonework, a charming inglenook range cooker and countryside views from many windows. On the entry-level floor, you can unpack your groceries in the kitchen-diner and make a brew to enjoy in the adjoining lounge. Or wander downstairs to the bonus TV room and out to the garden decking. From here you can drink in the far-reaching views of Sleights and its surroundings.
The upper floor houses a double room, a twin and a handy bunkbed room; the layout is ideal for families with children and grandparents holidaying together. The main bathroom has a modern shower and, on the lower-ground floor, there’s an extra shower room to save a two-flight climb to the toilet when you’re dining alfresco.
