Description

Our typical seaside cottage is within walking distance of the West Cliff, Whalebone Arch and miles of sandy beach. There’s even a free parking spot - a rarity amongst town centre accommodation.

Mariner’s Cottage is set over three floors and full of charm and original features. There are three bedrooms: a twin and a children’s room with bunk beds on the first floor and a bedroom with king size bed on the top floor, with its own en suite and views of Whitby Abbey. The house bathroom is on the first floor and has an over-bath electric shower for continuous hot water. Take care on the steep, winding stairs and duck for the occasional low beam - character comes in bucket loads here!

We love the mix of the bright and welcoming kitchen diner and the relaxing cosy living room with its big comfy sofas, oak beams, and decorative fireplace. If you're after luxury accommodation, Mariner's isn't for you but it's definitely well positioned for exploring the town and somewhere comfortable to nestle down after a day’s sightseeing.

The Local Area

Leave your car in its secure space and take the two-minute stroll to the nearest shops. It’s a fifteen-minute walk to the train station for a nostalgic steam journey to Pickering. There’s a large Co-op in the centre, local shops and a market selling freshly caught produce and Yorkshire fare that you must sample. For real ale, we recommend The Pier Inn, but there are plenty of others to choose from!

Have used Shoreline a number of times. The staff have always been helpful; the properties have always been lovely (if a little quirky occasionally!), and in the rare instance that we have had a minor problem, it has been dealt with quickly and efficiently. We will definitely continue to book with Shoreline in the future.

Spent a week at Mariners Cottage, the cottage was really clean and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need, parking in the centre of Whitby was a real bonus! We had a slight issue with the shower which was dealt with quickly and professionally by Shoreline. A fabulous stay, we hope to use shoreline again in the future.

Mrs P. Sandbach.

We had a brilliant time in Whitby, the accommodation was lovely, excellent location with added benefit of parking too. We would definitely return.
