Amid the chocolate-box village of Fylingthorpe is detached, stone built Howdale Cottage. It’s within walking distance of one of our favourite places, Robin Hoods Bay.
Park right outside on the road and enter the house via the fabulous kitchen, into a traditionally styled holiday cottage. We love the cosy, beamed lounge and guests tell us the sofa bed is really comfy, so its ideal for families with children.
From the sitting room you can step outdoors into the barbecue dining area and enclosed garden. Being southwest-facing it’s wonderful for sitting out well into the evening.
Careful, there are steps throughout the cottage including a winding staircase to the double room, which has low beams – it all adds to the superb character of the place! Even the bathroom is a delight, with its separate shower and Jacuzzi roll top bath for soaking in after a day at the beach.
The icing on the cake is the garden hot tub. Extra towels and robes are provided and it’s totally private. Romantic breaks in Yorkshire don’t get any better!

Absolutely loved it, cottage was clean everything we needed, hot tub was a great addition. Location excellent.
Perfect location and great being able to park outside the cottage. Stayed at Howdale Cottage many times and really like the quiet village setting. Cottage has everything and more that you need for a weeks holiday. Cosy and comfortable and the hot tub is an added bonus. The garden is completely secure and safe for the dog. Great base to have for daily outings visiting different locations.
This is a fabulous character cottage with everything you need and more! The bonus of the hot tub after lovely local walks is why we keep returning! It’s about 25 mins walk down to the Bay hotel for fab pub food. We love the location in Fylingthorp village, also local shop and pub. What more do you need! Booking process and check in/ out very easy. Would highly recommend and will be back soon!
