Description

Unlike some Whitby cottages, Henrietta Cottage is surprisingly spacious. The entrance is along the passageway just off the quaint cobbles of Henrietta Street. It's character-packed and dog-friendly, and opens out from the modern kitchen, which backs on to the cliff face, into a large and inviting lounge. After a day in the fresh air, curl up beside the warm, living flame gas fire and catch up on world affairs through free Wi-Fi.

Halfway up the steep, winding staircase you’ll reach the impressive family bathroom. The over-bath rain shower is so refreshing when you’ve pounded Whitby’s cobbled streets. The first floor bedroom with king size bed feels airy with its large windows, whilst the second floor attic twin offers a quiet space to sleep – and a view of the rear courtyard through its dormer.

As somewhere to relax, we love the little seating area out back, where you can dine on warmer days or take an evening glass of wine.

The Local Area

There are plenty of pubs to call in on, we like the Duke of York close by. Ensure you climb the 199 Whitby Abbey steps, discover the lovely harbour or head to Botham’s Bakery and Fortune’s Kippers for fabulous local produce. Leave your car in the public car park – fifteen minutes’ walk away – you probably won’t need it. Or arrive by train, and taxi the last half a mile.

Mr E. Leeds.

Lovely stay. Nice clean place in a great location on the gorgeous Henrietta Street. Here you're close to everything. The street is busy and can be noisy if you want total peace and quiet, but we loved the place. Good-sized rooms, really nice shower, lounge and dining area. We'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely accommodation right near the Abbey, on beautiful Henrietta Street and central.
