Annual Whitby Festivals Return For Fun-Filled Spring On Yorkshire Coast
Whitby comes to life with a month of festivals to welcome in the spring.
Spring is finally right around the corner, and Whitby is certainly the place to spend it, with a number of popular festivals on the horizon to celebrate in style. Whitby Spring Angling Festival
Although the Whitby Angling Festival has 3 dates over the course of 2013, the spring festival help between the 6th and 21st of April allows all keen skippers and sailors to take to the surrounding seas and demonstrate their angling skills whilst aboard a number of boats registered with the Whitby Chartered Skippers Association.
After years of success, this year’s angling festival comes back with three events spread over spring, summer and autumn, and on-going talks resume over the introduction of a winter festival also. With some major catches over the years, this fortnight poses the perfect opportunity for keen fishermen to pay a visit and demonstrate their skills.
Spring Whitby Goth Weekend
For those who prefer to indulge in slightly heavier activities, Whitby’s biannual Goth Weekend is set to take place from the 26th through to the 28th of April. Packed full of alternative delights, this festival is sure to entice a large proportion of the gothic population from around the world; after all, Whitby is the birth place of Dracula!
With a host of hardcore bands set to take to the stage of 2 days of fantastic live music, this atmosphere and truly unique event should be experienced by everyone.
